For this project, I was asked to interview someone and figure out a problem they have to solve with an app. After questioning, I decided my “client” needed an app to help keep a digital inventory of their cooking ingredients and an expiration reminder for each item, so you don’t have expired food. The app will also incorporate a grocery list that allows you to shop more efficiently and automatically add it to your inventory once purchased. The app also uses the ingredients you have and finds recipes you can cook with them without going to the store again. I went through a series of phases. The initial step is to figure out the user’s pain points, then to create personas. I curated five personas of fake people who would need and utilize this app. the next phase included creating a storyboard, a user task flow, and wireframes. The user flow and wireframes are what is shown here. After the initial research and sketches from the wireframes, I digitized my drawings using Figma and created a color palette and a simplistic and user-friendly concept. After designing the pages, I linked every action and button to the correct place and created a prototype of the app.
